About Wilkes County Criminal History

Wilkes County records are divided among the Sheriff's Office on Andrew Drive, the courthouse clerk in Room 301, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia Crime Information Center, the corrections system, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. This private reference site organizes those separate channels so a reader can identify the likely custodian, official portal, and verified contact before making a request.

Why We Built This Site

Public access in Georgia does not put every record in one database. WCSO handles its reports, local booking and detention information, while the Wilkes County Superior Court Clerk maintains filed charges and final dispositions. GCIC receives statewide fingerprint and disposition data, and separate systems cover sentenced custody and registry information. We assembled the documented request routes, costs, portal limits, and office contacts so those boundaries are easier to follow.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Wilkes County
  • Official check walkthroughs: how name-based and fingerprint background checks work through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI)/Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) repository
  • Agency contacts: where to reach the sheriff's records unit, the criminal courts, and the statewide systems that hold Wilkes County records
  • Record cleanup help: how record restriction and sealing work under Georgia law and where petitions are filed

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Georgia court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file record restriction petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

Only the issuing agency - the sheriff, the court, or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI)/Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) - can provide an official copy of a criminal record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.

Search Partners

Outside companies operate search boxes appearing on some pages and control their own results, prices, and service terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports the site's operation. We neither set a partner's charges nor determine what its search returns.
